Ecological Ensurance - permanent ecosystem & biodiversity protection

Are you needing to express the Value of the Benefits your project provides? Or do you have a ecosystem/site/project you want to permanently protect?

Based on the work we are doing with RealValue (link to regen forum post) we have the basis for what we call Ecological Ensurance.

Ensurance is the financial model that Ensures ecosystems and the benefits they provide will permanently be protected. The Ensurance Premium is calculated off of the relationship between the annual RealValue, capital providers, and the underlying real asset cost/value. This relationship calcualtes cost options to put the ecosystem Entrust either today, 2030, 2040, or 2050. We can even do a custom # of years or year by year. It works for non-profit capital providers or market rate investors, both of which we call Ensurers.

In any scenario the land is protected from day one while it is Ensured and goes in Entrust based on the cost/time scenario selected. Our model helps get the land part funded and creates room for both Environmental Stewardship and Outcome based crediting.

Attached is an example of a demo site consisting of 100 acres of river, wetlands, & forest in the Southeast Savannas & Riparian Forests Bioregion.

Annual RealValue: $1,094,101

Natural Cap Rate: 166% on Real Asset value of $660k

Please post comments / questions below or reach out if you are needing to express the Value of the Benefits your project provides or if you have a site you want to permanently protect.

Just noting that I am following and very interested. I am wondering if you have a demo yet of how you are building this out?

We are all excited! And of course a bit bummed you chose to build all this out on an EVM.

I am cross posting to the environmental stewardship framework which creates a short term (per annum) action and monitoring based contract and results based credit/payment agreement foundation that may or may not be able to link to quantification and assignment of downstream future value (or present value being stewarded):
