Guardians of Earth is in the initial phases of our collaboration with Regen Network members for an innovative tokenization pilot program. We’re looking to bridge the gap between ecological gaming and regenerative finance by tokenizing BioCultural Units (BCUs). Here are out thoughts on how the trial could go. Any feedback, comments, concerns, much appreciated.
Current Status & Opportunity
We have 20 BCUs valued at approximately $60,000 ready for tokenization as our proof-of-concept. Due to our funding structure, we’re exploring payment in BCUs rather than USD for development services.
The Challenge: Building from Zero
Currently, we have no tokenization infrastructure in place, which creates immediate barriers:
-
No custodian roles defined
-
No blockchain integration or token contracts
-
No verification workflows
-
No distribution mechanisms
-
No security protocols for key management
Proposed Implementation: Phase 0 Manual Process
Custody Transfer Process:
The custodian receives web2 BCUs transferred to them on the GoE marketplace, establishing clear custodianship before tokenization occurs. This creates a secure bridge between our existing web2 ecosystem and the blockchain tokenization process.
Once received BCUs are tokenized.
Token Contract Deployment:
Leveraging Regen Network’s native Token Factory module for:
-
Token variants: BCU-[REALM] (e.g., BCU-AMAZON, BCU-OCEAN)
-
On-demand minting per verified BCU
-
Non-divisible whole units (0 decimals)
-
Multi-sig minting authority
Manual Verification Protocol
Each BCU requires human verification to ensure legitimacy:
-
Review bioscore calculation accuracy
-
Verify player authenticity and activity history
-
Check for fraud or duplicate claims
-
Confirm ecological activity completion
-
Verify successful transfer to custodian on GoE marketplace
-
Document verification with supporting evidence
Web2 to Web3 Custody Bridge
Two-Stage Custody Process:
-
Web2 Custodianship: BCUs transferred to custodian within GoE marketplace system
-
Web3 Tokenization: Once under custodianship, BCUs are tokenized on Regen Network
Future Automation Vision
This manual process serves as the critical foundation for understanding tokenization requirements. Every manual step becomes input for future smart contract logic and oracle integration:
-
Multi-sig wallets → automated smart contract controls
-
Manual verification → oracle data validation
-
GoE marketplace custody → automated escrow systems
-
Process documentation → automated workflow design
-
Security protocols → automated system architecture
Long-term Goal
Moving toward automated BCU tokenization where each contributor automatically receives tokens representing their biocultural contributions on GoE in their account, with seamless integration between GoE marketplace custody and blockchain tokenization.
This pilot represents the essential first step before any automation development can begin. Join us in tokenizing ecological impact and building the infrastructure for regenerative gaming economies.

Exciting to see the evolution here @Terexitarius!
I particularly appreciate the thoughtful progression from learning/experimentation into more automation and complexity.
Curious about the following…
- How do you envision custodians being selected and authorized? Would they be individual actors, DAOs, etc?
- Will verification be carried out entirely within GoE’s system or integrating with Regen Registry’s system?
- Are there data and monitoring protocols you are aligning with?
- How would partners and developers value BCUs relative to fiat? Are they meant to circulate or be proof-of-impact units?
- What entity or community would govern the BCU tokens and custodians?
- Do you envision BCUs becoming part of Regen Registry’s credit protocols or something parallel and outside of Regen Registry? Do you imagine these assets would be listed on the Regen Marketplace or kept within GoE’s marketplace only and using the technical bridges?
Really looking forward to seeing where this leads!

HI Rebecca great questions and excited to explore them with the Regen community,
- How do you envision custodians being selected and authorized? Would they be individual actors, DAOs, etc?
I think it would go from a centralized to gradually decentralized state. In the beginning we need to utilize networks of trust to say this is the custodian account we deposit them in and the onchain admin that would mint them. This could be someone that is connected to Regen Network that acts as a custodian initially. Definitely open to exploring options.
- Will verification be carried out entirely within GoE’s system or integrating with Regen Registry’s system?
We are looking to get the GoE methodology approved through Regen but are still months out from being there. Currently the verification is done with GoE’s system. This system is mostly human sensing through smart phones and I don’t know if Regen Registry has additional components that might be good to integrate with.
-
Are there data and monitoring protocols you are aligning with?
-
The main data and monitoring protocol is GoE’s- however GoE integrates already with iNaturalist, eBird and Questagame. With time more such data gathering systems are likely to be integrated.
-
How would partners and developers value BCUs relative to fiat? Are they meant to circulate or be proof-of-impact units?
BCU’s would be valued through market speculation, able to circulate and every holder of them being a holder of a proof of biocultural impact.
- What entity or community would govern the BCU tokens and custodians?
Currently the entities that we envision governing the BCU tokens and custodians are members of GoE as well as Regen Network/ other onboarding partners.
- Do you envision BCUs becoming part of Regen Registry’s credit protocols or something parallel and outside of Regen Registry? Do you imagine these assets would be listed on the Regen Marketplace or kept within GoE’s marketplace only and using the technical bridges?
Definitely would be great to integrate in Regen Marketplace and the Registry. The more areas we are able to list the tokens the more potential market there are for them.

I think this is an important direction, and my immediate thought is that our credits in the Registry also need to be tokenized directly on EVM in parallel. That seems like the only way to ensure they can circulate alongside the broader DeFi economy. I’m curious how this proposal complements that parallel track — does tokenizing these biocultural units move us closer to having Registry credits represented on EVM as well, or should we think of them as two separate but converging paths?
I agree with tokenizing them in parallel and I would like to see onchain credits being thought of more as stores of value. The credit markets (particularly carbon) for example off chain are large markets that people buy and sell. If Regen were strategic in establishing these liquidity pools and operating them, there could be a % benefit raked in.
