At about 44:44 on Green Pill - Proof of Regeneration episode, Gregory and Kevin discuss a Global Index / Proof of Regeneration Global Reserve Currency. One must assume this will be $REGEN. In thinking about this, does Regen have plans to include other assets in it’s treasury… i.e. other crypto, DAO tokens, real world assets etc? Would love to hear more on this index approach. I could personally see Community Funding and Ecosystem Fund projects in the index by default.

I think having $REGEN become a proof of regeneration global reserve currency will be fantastic if/when it happens. I see three potential paths towards this beings true. I will also note that we decided to not go directly for this goal due to token engineering challenges related to incentive design challenges: and instead allow the community to iterate towards the solution for this that seems most sounds.
Path 1:
The community adds a mechanism for Regen Network to purchase eco-assets using Regen and hold those assets in the treasury either to re-sell or hold as liquidity. This could happen at a slow and low cost experimental rate via the existing community pool. This could also be accelerated by increasing protocol emissions (commonly referred to as inflation). This could be managed by subDAOs (or ministries as they are called on Osmosis). This would be a simple and low fidelity way to start building eco-asset liquidity ownership by the community/protocol itself.
For this to happen well there would need to be a strong integration with Regen Registry and an approved and governed list of eco-credit classes and issuers that are accepted.
Path 2:
Regen Network community can build a parallel protocol specifically designed for this purpose. This could launch as a module running on regen ledger itself, or as a sister chain secured by the regen validator set through interchain security. An example would be Arbiter DAO. I do not favor the OHM approach to generating a Proof of Regeneration Global Reserve Currency, and there are other nascent interesting approaches to protocol owned treasury management.
Path 3
The longer game is really that simply by focusing on security, governance and asset issuance, $regen itself essentially becomes a proxy/index of all the credits that are issued and being exchanged, retired and used on chain. This more open ended approach allows for other token designs to emphasize the financial ins
