Pro-Crypto US Administration
With the incoming Trump administration, the United States is shifting from one of the worst jurisdictions from which to domicile a crypto project to one of the best. This is an opportunity for Regen Network to get the wind back in our sails again. At the same time, bull runs attract a lot of scammers and unethical behavior, and even with a pro-crypto administration, it will still be some time before there is a clear policy framework in the United States. Additionally, Regen Network is a global project, so any framework we adopt should serve all of our members, not just those in the United States.
Ethical Foundations
Regen Network has long been seen as a leader in the regenerative space, and part of this is a result in our strong ethical compass. We already have a Token Ownership & Trading Policy in place for agents of genesis organizations, as well as a Code of Conduct applicable to all community members of Regen Network. That said, both of these documents are custom-tailored to other purposes.
Parallel Processes
I will note that there has also been interest in developing a Regen Constitution, as well as overhauling Regen Consortium (the Trustees of Regen Foundation). Both of these processes can be enriched by this Ethical Principles process.
Candidate Principles
Two candidates I would propose:
- Built in Public—material information is shared across the community (on community calls, on X, on Common, Discord, etc.) as soon as it develops. Endeavors are organized in such a way that they are accessible to participation, and not gated by excessively technical jargon, etc.
- Decentralization—no single institution determines the direction of the network, or can veto community sentiment. New poles form, the constellation grows in complexity. W
