**Summary **

This proposal outlines the creation of a virtual 3D space called Regen Botanical Garden in the Lorem Ipsum Interchain Metaverse. The virtual garden is designed with a focus on promoting responsible care for nature, aligning with the corporate identity of the Regen brand and is aiming to attract new users into ecosystem as well as increasing trading volume of Regen carbon credits.

Lorem Ipsum is the first Metaverse for the Interchain that was launched on September 26, 2022. The project is aiming to become one of the core Cosmos ecosystem infrastructure that will unite dApps, protocols and their communities in one immersive, scalable and gamified interface.

The aim of the project is to educate users about the workings of carbon credits in a clear and engaging manner through an interactive 3D environment. This will raise the level of awareness among the audience about the significance of Regen’s operations, thereby attracting more funds to Regen.

Advantages for Regen include:

  • a simple way to onboard new users,
  • novel experiences for community members and long-term investors,
  • new opportunities for communication and events,
  • increase trading volume of eco-credits.

Work principle:
The metaverse, accessible with or without Keplr, is a virtual gaming space where users can select any NFT as their avatar and interact with others. Inside, they can communicate, create, attend events, and have fun. The virtual space will feature two zones: Regen Lounge Room and Regen Botanical Garden.

  1. In the Regen Lounge Room, users will be able to enter a space decorated in Regen’s style, chat, hang out, and learn about the Regen project in an interactive and engaging way. The lounge room will feature the following attractions:

These are the opinions of Sarah Baxendell, token holder, and not the views of any organization. I have spent over 7,000 hours working on Regen Network since October 2019 and have an intimate understanding of our users, community, and tech stack.

My assessment of this proposal:

I find this proposal extremely disconnected from the reality of the Regen Network core users (project developers, scientists, carbon credit buyers), current product functionality (credit issuance and methodology design and governance), and real world ecological regeneration science use cases, which are the priority of our blockchain development tech stack and the focus of our work driving REAL WORLD ECOLOGICAL REGENERATION.

This proposal requests $90,000 for an abstract concept unrelated to our core products, on another Cosmos blockchain, which at this moment is 18% of the Regen Network community pool (currently valued at $507,360). This will create native token sell pressure without creating real world value for our core users, who are primarily project developers, carbon credit buyers, scientists, and land stewards.

I recommend that this team spends time deepening their understanding of how Regen Network works for a few months, and deepens their direct participation in the Regen Network community, before requesting limited Community Pool Funds.

IMO abstract artistic metaverse concepts are not appropriate for this bear market, nor do they directly relate to the current scale or style of Regen Network’s true value proposition - originating real world ecological assets with project developers and land stewards, scientists creating innovative new land regeneration monitoring methodologies, and selling credits for carbon offsetting claims to corporations, to both regenerate ecosystems worldwide and directly affect climate change.

I wouldn’t support this project for a number of reasons some of them are listed below and well you get the idea…

  1. This is way too big and too risky of an ask from the community spend pool.
  2. I would like to see a real world place or existing community members featured in this proposal, where is the ecological regeneration aspect? where are community members such as ecosystem steward, ecocredit designers, or validators represented here?
  3. I would like to see a collaboration partner who has been a member of the regen community for 1+ year at least and has meaningfully participated in the community in some capacity before proposing such a large project — nice try
  4. As tempting as it might be to spend time in the metaverse, I don’t see the personal or ecological regeneration aspect… can’t you make it simpler and stronger. Could you maybe prototype this with something simple like https://odyssey.org/ just to demonstrate what it is better?
  5. What are the carbon emissions of this project itself?
  6. What will happen if the project fails?
  7. The Lorem Ipsum Metaverse is nascent and doesn’t have users or traction

I really love the spirit of this proposal.
I’d like to focus the next community spend governance process on creating a group module managed process for management and deployment of our community treasury before we fund any other projects. The Branch Out climate wiki proposal really outlined the need for more guardrails and I also think we need to think about treasury management integrated into investments and granting support for the ecosystem as a whole system before any one off community pool spending.

I would love to chat with founders of this initiative. Sarah this aligns well into my Agenda of ideas of creating a Refi Hub on Cosmos. before reading this i had come up with an idea of a "secured Metaverse built on Gaia. If we can schedule a call @A Geek for me to explain my concept infrastructure design. My hopes from our collaboration will be different channels within this Metaverse for Refiers to explore, create, and build together.
