Cambium validator shutting down

Hey everyone,

After nearly 4 years of running a validator for Regen Network, we’ve decided to stop operating our validator, Cambium. It’s been a great experience contributing to the network’s growth from the early days, and we’ve really enjoyed being part of this community.

This is happening because we are shifting to new roles on other projects. This means we’ll no longer have the time to dedicate to running our validator.

To our delegators, we want to thank you for your support. We encourage you to redelegate your stake to other great validators in the network.

While we’re stepping back from this role, we’re not leaving the Regen Network community. We’re still excited about the network’s mission and what’s ahead. We hope to keep collaborating with you all and are especially interested in sharing our expertise on topics like:

  • Semantic and knowledge graph data standards, including the Regen Framework.

  • Data management for agriculture, biodiversity, and environmental projects.

  • AI and Earth observation data and tooling.

  • General Web-3 APIs and interoperability.

We look forward to continuing to be part of the community and seeing the network thrive.

Best,
@paul121 & Will

Thanks for your great contribution!

Ahh sorry to hear that @paul121 :frowning: Thanks as always for your contributions thus far and excited for your new chapter!

For me this brings up another bigger question of how we get people to redelegate once validators shut down. There have been a lot of validators who shut down over the last few years, and I’ve noticed not too many people re-stake. Currently we have ~20M tokens staked with Jailed or Inactive validators. This might be a post for a new thread, but curious how folks think we should navigate re-staking.
