ChainodeTech Validator

Please tell us your validator moniker used for mainnet genTx and link to the github PR.

ChainodeTech

Please describe the setup you are using for your validator? Include any relevant security information, processor speed, backups and sentry nodes etc…

Validator infrastructure

Tier 3 data centers
Main validator:

  • 6 CPU Cores AMD (3.6 GHz);
  • 64 GB RAM;
  • 512 GB SSD;
  • OS: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

Backup (different data center than the main validator for better redundancy):

  • 4 CPU Cores AMD (2.8 GHz);
  • 8 GB RAM;
  • 200 GB SSD;
  • OS: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.

Both the main validator as well as the backup validator machines will be upgraded based on the network demand.

We use YubiKey HSM modules in combination with certificates to authenticate to our machines. We also released a guide on how this setup can be done and how the validator security access can be improved: Improving Validator Security and using HSM Module for 2FA | by Chainode Tech | Chainode Tech | Medium

Firewalls are being used to define strict access to the ports and fail2ban is being used to reduce brute force attacks.

Monitoring is being done by using Grafana and Prometheus. This guide provides a brief insight into the tools we create and use: Agoric Validator Setup Guide by Chainode Tech | by Chainode Tech | Chainode Tech | Mar, 2021 | Medium

Are you in some way trying to apply the high level application logic to create ecological credits. If so, please explain how.

To be analyzed and decided yet.

Are you working to engage a broader community? If so, please explain how.

Yes, we are constantly working on building a community around Chainode Tech which we can egange in all the projects that we are participating as a validator. In this way, we not only have a dedicated place for delegators to communicate directly with our team, but we can actually increase the awareness around the projects that we support.

We already started doing this with Regen Network by writing an introductory article about Regen Network: What do climate change and blockchain have in common? Regen Network. | by Chainode Tech | Chainode Tech | Medium

Yes, we are a profesional validator and we operate under the name Chainode Tech.

The list of the networks that we are validating on includes the following: Solana, The Graph, Avalanche, Akash, KAVA, Band Protocol, Certik, Harmony, SKALE, Stafi, ICON, BitSong and many others that we are currently researching.

How did you perform during testnets and which testnets did you take part in? Please include the moniker(s) used. You can refer to your testnet results at https://regen.vitwit.com

We weren’t aware about Regen Network since the beginning but once we started to get involved, we never stopped. Considering we missed the first 2 testnets and we only participated in Algradigon-1, Kontraua and Aplikigo, we achieved at the end one of the best results (final position 7) from a total number of 175 participatns.

Please add a paragraph which will help the community decide to delegate to you. This may include any relevant information not listed above as to why you would like to be a Regen Network validator and why the community should choose to delegate to you.

Founded in early 2019, Chainode Tech is a young, extremely motivated and experienced team based in Zug, Switzerland, that is focused on providing staking and validator services on cutting edge Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) protocols. Driven by the motivation of bringing decentralization in the real world and with the experience of getting to know the blockchain space since 2014, we decided that it was time to get actively involved in the space as Chainode Tech and to vote with our knowledge and services projects that we believe in and see as technically pertinent of growing the decentralized Web 3.0 space.
